Journalist Gauri Lankesh's Murder : Bengaluru on High Alert

Gauri Lankesh who was the senior journalist dead out side her home. Around 8 PM the 55 year old journalist came out from her car and a attacker fire seven bullets on her. Four bullets hits her, one in her head.

Neighbors first thinks that it was crackers. Police examine CCTV footage and found clues. According to IANS " A total of seven bullets were fired out of which four missed the target and hit the wall of the house. Three bullets had hit her, two in her chest and one in the forehead," said Bengaluru Police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar .

Gauri Lankesh was known for his anti-establishment stand and courage to speak her mind openly. She was born in 1962 in a Hindu family. She was the oldest daughter of P. Lankesh. She started her journalist carrier with Times of India.

Gauri had in the past worked for the rehabilitation of Naxalites who wanted to return to the social mainstream and was one among those involved in the founding of Citizens Initiative for Peace (CiP) in the state
